GLP-1 forum

You are getting oriented.

Reference and calculator, not medical advice. This page explains how something works; it does not tell you what to take. Last reviewed August 2026.

Forums are genuinely good at one class of question and genuinely bad at another, and the split is predictable. They are good at lived logistics — what a pharmacy said, how an appeal went, what the injection actually feels like, how people handle the fasting requirement. Those are experiences, and aggregated experience is real information you cannot get from a label.

They are unreliable for dose and safety questions, for a structural reason rather than a snobbish one: the person answering does not know your contraindications, what else you take, or which product you actually have. A confident answer about milligrams from someone who cannot see any of that is confident about the wrong thing. The dose figures on this site come from prescribing information and link back to it, which is a different kind of source rather than a better-informed opinion.

mg → syringe units converter

U-100 syringe. Formula: (dose ÷ concentration) × 100.

12.5units on a U-100 syringe
= 0.125 mL  ·  2.5 mg at 20 mg/mL

Check the concentration printed on the vial you are actually holding. The same dose in milligrams is a completely different mark on the syringe at a different concentration. If the number here does not match what your prescriber told you, trust your prescriber.

Common questions

Why do forum dose numbers disagree with charts?
Usually because they are describing different products or different concentrations. The same milligram dose is a completely different mark on the syringe at 5 mg/mL versus 20 mg/mL, and that single ambiguity accounts for a large share of the disagreements.
Is anecdotal experience worthless?
Not at all — it is the best available source for what the process is like and for navigating insurance and pharmacies. It is simply not a source for what dose to take.
What should I bring to a prescriber from a forum?
Questions rather than conclusions. "Several people mentioned holding at this step — is that something to consider?" uses the forum for what it is good at.

Sources and last review

This page is general reference rather than a dosing table, so it quotes no figures from a label. Nothing here is reviewed by a clinician, and this site does not employ one — which is exactly why what I do publish stays traceable to its source.
